Hopefully, you have just read my blog on the importance of having systems and processes in your business so you know that it is something that you need to do. So the next step is getting these things done. I know that if you do not have anything set up the task can seem overwhelming. Like any large project, the key is to break it down in to manageable chunks.

Your first task is to perform a download. No, this does not involve you plugging a cord in to your brain and sending all the information to your computer (though this would be extremely handy). What you need to do it create a visual representation of what you do in your business. This does not have to be neat or pretty. It is just for you to use so as long as you can understand, that is all that matters.

The purpose of the download is to get everything out of your head and on to paper. You need to write down everything that you do in your business. This includes every single task, no matter how small it may be.

The result of this download is a full view of your business. You now know all of the tasks that you complete in your business. In order to start creating systems and processes for every single one of these tasks.

Now the key here is to not attack it in one big chunk. It takes time and effort but it is something that is within your grasp. My recommendation would be to set aside 15minutes every day and choose one task from your list. Write down the task and all of the actions involved in completing it. This becomes your system. Within the system, write down how you complete the task – go in to great detail on this. Once you have captured a whole task, write it up. This is now a process that you can create a folder on.

If you are not a get typing kind of person, you could consider creating videos on how to complete tasks. Most smart phones have a video recording facility and this might suit you better.

The key is, get started and only do a little every day. Before you know it, you will have a whole file of tasks that now have systems and processes. This not only adds value to your business but will instantly reduce your stress.
